 European Plate Observing System for Poland (EPOS-PL) – Project No.: POIR.04.02.00-14-A0003/16

The EPOS-PL project is co-financed under Priority IV: INCREASING THE RESEARCH POTENTIAL
The goal of this project is to developed the research infrastructure EPOS-PL, where the observation data of the Polish part of European plate from dispersed measurement networks will collected. Then, these data are developed, standardized and integrated in the form of databases with metadata, access to which is provided through the web site with the appropriate analytical services / applications and dedicated visualizations. EPOS-PL engages scientists and industrial experts from many fields: geophysics and seismology, geodesy, mining, geology, geomagnetism, and gravity with a common goal of providing comprehensive and complementary information on the measured results.

The Central Mining Institute (GIG) is primarily involved in the realisation of task no. 9 – “MUSE – Multidisciplinary Upper Silesian Episode”. GIG is responsible for the realisation of this task and is building an infrastructure for monitoring geodynamics of Upper Silesian Coal Basin, where intensive activities related to coal exploitation take place.
